A Little About Sammamish

Previously ranked #1 on Forbes 2012 list of Friendliest Towns in the United States, Sammamish is home to over 46,000 people. Just a half hour east of Seattle, it is a suburb that consists of 18.47 square miles and has three major lakes: Sammamish, Beaver, and Pine.

The town’s trees, mountains and lakes provide hiking trails, shores, hillside terrain, and even scenic woods around housing developments. With Redmond to the north and Issaquah to the south, the town represents two different ZIP codes - 98074 and 98075. It took until the 1970s and 1980s for suburban homes, shopping centers and schools to start being built in the area; the town was officially incorporated until 1999.

Sammamish contains five major city parks as well as a regional park on the northeast outskirts of town and is home to two private golf clubs. It has two school districts - the Lake Washington School District and Issaquah School District.
